Dragon Quest 11 is coming to the west next year

The latest entry in the Dragon Quest series, Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age, has just made its debut in Japan, but there's been no word on a western release.

Square Enix launched a special video to announce that Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age is now being localized in five different languages.

Dragon Quest XI is out now in Japan, but don't worry about missing out on this one in English. The video also doesn't say if the global release will be on multiple platforms or not.

It's not yet confirmed what platforms it will be on, as the Japanese version of Dragon Quest 11 launched on PS4 and 3DS in January, with a Switch release still in the works. Whether Square Enix is doing a single western release for the rest of the world with all five languages available everywhere remains to be seen, but the publisher will have more information on Dragon Quest XI this fall. They seemed different enough to warrant both being localized.
