It will begin rolling out on Android within both the Google app and the Google Chrome app now. While there is still some confusion regarding the exact name of the next Android version, it seems nearly certain that Oreo would be it, as it is known quite well internationally. Till now, Android versions have been named after dessert names, but Android experts feel that Google may break the tradition this time.

The new OS will include updates to what Google calls "vitals", including battery and security improvements. This will let users view the count without opening the app. Users will also get the option to turn off the notification badges for apps from the Settings app. According to this feature, people don't have to go for the notification by dropping down the top menu, a dot will appear on the app icon for the related notification.
