United States shooter kills three at Maryland business park

Three people were killed and two wounded on Wednesday in a shooting at an Edgewood, Maryland, stone countertop company, Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler said.

The Harford County Sheriff's Office said the Wednesday morning shooting happened at Advanced Granite Solutions in Edgewood.

The two patients being treated at Shock Trauma are both in critical condition, Shock Trauma said on Twitter.

Gahler said the suspect used a handgun in the shooting and that it does appear to be a targeted attack.

He says the victim was able to tell police that 37-year-old Radee Labeeb Prince shot him. Investigators believe Prince drove away in a 2008 black Acadia, with DE license plate PC64273.

"There's an individual out there on the loose who committed one of the most heinous acts we've ever seen in our county, certainly we consider him armed and unsafe", Gahler told reporters.

Prince is also accused of earlier shooting five of his co-workers in Maryland, killing three of them.

A newspaper is reporting that a man who police say killed three people and wounded two more at his Maryland workplace was sacked from another job earlier this year after he attacked a co-worker. A former co-worker sought a restraining order against Prince in February, saying he had punched another employee and threatened employees.

The Baltimore Sun reports Prince was sacked from another job earlier this year after he attacked a co-worker. He didn't hear sounds of gunshots, he said.

Schools in the area, 30 miles from Baltimore, were placed on lockdown as police hunted for the gunman. The men told him someone was shooting and he asked if they had called 911.

To date in 2017 there have been 285 mass shootings - defined as four or more people shot or killed, not including the shooter - in the United States, or almost one per day. He said authorities had helicopters in the air and law enforcement on the ground looking for Prince.

He did not explain Prince's exact association with the business.
