Oklahoma Woman Who Married Her Mother Pleads Guilty To Incest

An Oklahoma woman who married her biological mother has received a 10-year, deferred sentence, according to KFOR.

The Stephens County District Court sentenced Misty Spann to 10 years probation, according to Tulsa World.

Investigators told KFOR that 43-year-old Patricia Spann lost custody of Misty, 26, and two other children when they were young.

They married in March 2016, after Patricia convinced her daughter that they weren't violating the law by being together.

Misty filed for the marriage to be annulled "by reason of illegality and fraud".

Patricia genuinely thought she wasn't doing anything wrong because she wasn't legally Misty's mum and had been removed from her daughter's birth certificate.

She also married her biological son in 2008, but the marriage was later annulled after he described it as incest, according to the affidavit.

Patricia Spann, who is also charged with incest, will appear in court in January.

It is reported that misty Spann grew up with her grandmother, as her mother was deprived of parental rights.
