If you've got a Galaxy A5 2017, then you should be receiving the update soon. This should make it easy to guess the next model number, which is without a doubt the one listed by Samsung - SM-A530.

Samsung is now rolling out an update that will install the November 1, 2017 Android security patch to the units of the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) in the United Arab Emirates.

A Samsung phone with model-number, SM-A530N, understood to be Galaxy A5 (2018), has been listed on the USA government-run FCC (Federal Communications Commission) and also received the necessary certifications, which are mandatory to get before it enters the market.

The same report indicates that pilot production for the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus kicked off in October.

Samsung's A series of smartphones usually launch around the turn of the year, and 2018 editions are expected to follow the steps. As for now, the only concrete details for major upgrades on the Galaxy S9 relate to the device's rear camera sensors. Instead, the biometric scanner will be transferred to the back portion, or right below the camera module. So, it did not come as a surprise to see the Exynos 9 Series 8895 making its official debut ahead of the Galaxy S8.
